A community of lifters, of people, for change

Community drives mettle to do things differently, and to challenge for positive change. We train and compete, we coach and learn, and we strive to make a difference on a daily basis.

At mettle, achievement is not just measured by competition success (which is different to others in the strength world). And we have fun, lots of fun. We believe that through lifting, we can build healthier, happier and stronger communities.

Impact Report

At mettle, we believe that strength is about more than just lifting weights. It's about building confidence, community, and brighter futures —especially for those who face barriers to participate in sport, health, & personal development.

Over the past year, we've delivered on our ambition to reach more programmes, in more places, delivered to more people.

Theory of Change

Across many communities, particularly those facing high levels of deprivation, youth disengagement, and health inequality, individuals are disconnected from meaningful opportunities to improve their lives.

Girls, young people, and underserved groups often experience barriers to participation in sport and physical activity — including limited access to inclusive facilities, financial and cultural obstacles, and a lack of safe, empowering environments.
